Being a mother does make it more difficult in the jobs market, it shouldn't be this way but in reality it is a lot harder to get employment if you have family commitments. It all sounds like fairy tales but the fact is that mums are one of the largest groups of people starting up their own businesses and working for themselves being self employed that allows them to work from home or at least base their work from their home.

Maybe it doesn't sound like something that you could do, how do you know unless you try? The great thing about the internet is that it has made many more opportunities and jobs for mums to make money from home. It has also meant that the start up costs for running a business are much lower making it easier to get started. With low stat up costs it makes it much more realistic for anyone to work for themselves.

Just look at eBay, now in the UK many tens of thousands of people earn a living selling through eBay. Did you know it literally costs pennies to list something for sale. It is something you can try without having to get a loan and so there is less risk involved. Did you know you could even earn money through eBay even without selling, at least not your own products. You could become an affiliate and recommend products on the internet and earn money that way.

Of course online auctions are an obvious example, the fact is that unless you do the research you will not be able to consider the myriad of opportunities available to you. With less risk and much more information available it's easier than ever to be able to earn a living working from home.
